Become an After-School Care Professional
The real free time begins after the school day ends. Minds unwind, bodies get moving, creativity comes alive. Children are ready to play and you know exactly how to make every afternoon one they'll look forward to. Can you already picture yourself creating fun, meaningful experiences every day? Then join Kind&co ludens at BSO South.
A Day in Your Role A Glimpse at your Work Day
The afternoon starts calmly as the first children arrive. Some make their own way to the after-school care location, while others are picked up by you or one of your colleagues. You chat with them, ask about their day, and make sure everyone feels welcome.
Together with your colleagues, you form a close-knit team and create an environment where every child feels seen, valued, and relaxed. . You know the children by name, are familiar with their parents, and maintain positive relationships with families. You instinctively sense the atmosphere within the group and know what the children need.
You encourage children to learn and develop through play. One day you might organise an outdoor sports tournament or an energetic game in the gym. The next, you'll head to the arts and crafts room to spark their creativity. Relaxation and fun are at the heart of every afternoon, while supporting children's confidence and personal development.
When parents arrive to collect their children, you take a moment to share the day's highlights, as well as the occasional "oops" moments too.
Your Workplace
Your work day is varied and dynamic.
The After-School Care (BSO) programme runs between 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., with the busiest hours during the afternoon. The Lunchtime Care (TSO) takes place daily between 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. (or 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., depending on the schedule). During lunchtime care, you supervise children while they play outside and organise sports and recreational activities.
From 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., you have a break. After that, the after-school programme begins. You prepare snacks and activities before welcoming the children for an enjoyable afternoon that lasts until 6:00–6:30 p.m.
No two days are the same!
BSO South Campus is located within the Amsterdam International Community School (AICS) on the South Campus in Amsterdam. We provide after-school care exclusively for children
